This is a cleansing breath which helps to alleviate uncomfortable chest conditions, to overcome acidity in the stomach and to remove tiredness and tension.

  1. Sit in any comfortable meditation posture, preferably padmasana
  2. Keep the head and spine upright.
  3. Relax the whole body and close the eyes.
  4. Place the hands on the thighs and take a full inhalation through nostril.
  5. Pucker the lips into the shape of a small tube, this is called kaki mudra.
  6. Blow out the air through the mouth in regular exhalation while bending the trunk forward, with the exhalations, produce the sound ISH, ISH, ISH by forcing the tongue against the back of the teeth.
  7. The forehead touches the ground at the end of the exhalation.
  8. Then, sit up the initial position on an inhalation.
